Romantic Surprises on Jekyll Island

“Thoughtful” doesn’t even begin to describe Bryce. He’d been planning for a while exactly how to propose to his girlfriend, Jordan. After years of dating through college and recently graduating, he knew the time had come to pop the question. Jekyll Island held a special place in both of their hearts, so it was the perfect destination for a weekend getaway — and an unforgettable engagement!

Bryce and I planned for him to lead Jordan toward the historic Cherokee Cottage on Jekyll Island — a quiet, charming spot nestled near the Jekyll Island Club. He told her they might grab drinks and a bite to eat at the resort afterward to celebrate. But before anything else, he was set on proposing — and making sure the moment was photographed!

As I hid behind a nearby bush (how she didn’t see me is still a mystery!), I watched Bryce guide her right into the spot we had picked out. He gently pulled her into position, said some heartfelt words to her… and then slowly sank down onto one knee. She was definitely surprised!

After Bryce proposed, we popped some champagne — Let’s get married, y’all! Jordan’s favorite kind of Prosecco had been personalized just for the occasion, turning the bottle into a keepsake they could treasure forever. Her favorite flower is the blue hydrangea, so we made sure the label featured them as a sweet surprise she could keep.

After the toast (and a few celebratory photos!), we wandered through more of the Jekyll Island Historic District, stopping at some of my favorite tucked-away photo spots. The golden-hour light was soft, the air was warm, and everything felt like a dream. We even stumbled upon a few deer quietly roaming near the historic buildings — it was like stepping back in time.

That’s part of the magic of Jekyll Island — whether you’re on Driftwood Beach or near the Club, it always feels timeless. But for Bryce and Jordan, this day wasn’t just about looking back — it was a beautiful step forward into forever. 💍
